    he causes and effects of air pollution in the context of technology and society. Main topics include: Identifying air pollutants and their impact on air quality and climate change, basic atmospheric science and meteorology, introduction to regulation and control, collective societal action, environmental justice, global vs. local considerations, economics of air pollution, tradeoffs, and the role of engineering design.

    Discounted cash flows. Sources of funds, cost of capital. Effects of depreciation, taxes, inflation. Evaluation and comparison of economic models for engineering projects. Replacement decisions. Public project analysis. Risk analysis. Project control, inventory analysis, simulation.
