Hi there! I’m an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Canada Research Chair in Real-World Air Quality Sensing at The University of British Columbia. I also lead the Integrated Research in Energy, Air, Climate & Health (iREACH) laboratory. I investigate the role of technology and policy interventions on air and climate outcomes. Prior to UBC, I was a postdoctoral research associate at Carnegie Mellon University in the Center for Atmospheric Particle Studies (CAPS). I also hold a PhD from the University of Toronto in the Southern Ontario Centre for Atmospheric Aerosol Research (SOCAAR) under the supervision of Dr. Greg Evans.

I am not recruiting new students at this time. However, exceptional students who wish to apply in conjunction with fellowship applications (e.g. NSERC CGS/PGS) are still encouraged to apply. Please note that due to the volume of inquiries I receive, I will only respond to those whose research interests and statements are well-aligned with my research program. For all student application inquiries, please put the phrase “Inquiry Re: Graduate Student Application, iREACH Labs” in the subject line.

I encourage applications from members of groups that have been marginalized on any grounds enumerated under the B.C. Human Rights Code, including sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, racialization, disability, political belief, religion, marital or family status, age, and/or status as a First Nation, Metis, Inuit, or Indigenous person.
